Common questions
What are the lamps actually made of?
Solid teak or mahogany, turned and finished by hand, with a warm filament bulb. The wood is the structure, not a veneer over something else — which is why the grain is different on every piece and why no two glow quite alike.
How long does an order take?
Every piece is made to order. The catalogue pieces are typically ready in one to two weeks; a commissioned design takes longer, because it starts with drawings and usually a prototype shade profile. You get a firm date with your quote, not an estimate.
Do the prices include VAT?
Yes. Every price shown includes 5% UAE VAT. There is no figure added at the end.
What bulb does it take, and is one included?
An E27 amber LED filament, included with the piece. Typically 4–6 W at 2200–2700 K, which is the warm end of the range — it is the colour the wood was chosen against, so a cool white bulb will make the same lamp look wrong.
Can I change the wood, the size or the fittings?
Yes. Many pieces can be configured on the site — you pick the wood and the fittings and watch the price change as you go. If what you want is not in the list, that is a commission, and the Custom Design page is where it starts.
Where do you deliver, and what does it cost?
Tell us where the piece is going and delivery is confirmed with your quote, before you commit to anything. Cost depends on the size of the piece and the destination — a wall sconce and a six-arm chandelier are not the same problem.
Can I see one lit before I buy?
Yes, and we would rather you did. These photograph well but they are better in person, because what a lamp actually does to a room is not something a picture shows. Message us and come to the workshop.
Do you work with designers, hotels and restaurants?
Yes — repeat and volume work is a large part of what the workshop does. Tell us the project, the quantity and the timeline through the Custom Design form and you will get a considered answer rather than a price list.
What if something arrives damaged or is not right?
Contact us straight away, with photographs if you can. Every piece is checked before it leaves the bench, so this is rare — but when it happens it is ours to put right, and we will tell you exactly how before you have to ask twice.
How do I look after it?
Wood and electrics, so: dry cloth, no solvents, and keep it out of direct sun. There is a short care guide with everything worth knowing.
